Also you definitly went wrong on storage - get LSI or other good brand sas/sata raid controler and put 8 sand force based SSDs into it for 2 GB/s reads

This thread is about what would make an ultimate PC, not the ultimate gaming PC.
So 2 CPUs and tons of RAM make sense if you want to do 3d rendering, heavy batch processing in photoshop, ect.
