I always buy new but usually on sale or clearance. Most games arent worth more than $20.
I dont actually care about publishers or whatever. Most companies are money grubbing fucks that expect you to pay upwards of $80 with DLC and whatever to get the "full" experience. They generally dont care about you, just your money, so I never fault friends for buying used or bootlegging.
Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.
Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.
