really? How little I know about music? First of all anybody can sing.. Bieber has been singing since he was 5 years old on youtube, and he developed his little fanbase from there.. Usher saw him and decided to make him his boy toy.  The kid has a voice, and he can play the guitar pretty well.. It's said he is being used as a girl magnet, and being thrown these pathetic songs by his label, but hey that's how the pop industry works.

As for the "you know nothing about music" I'm a zepplin fan, a floyd fan, and enjoy any type of music as long as it sounds good, I do not enjoy bieber's music or "SOLDJA BOIII" I enjoy lady gaga since I felt something different with her than any other pop artists, and it's her devotion to art, and her theatrics, thats it. You shouldn't judge an artist just because half of the male population hates them so you have to jump on board with them and go "I dislike X person because they suck, let me show you some rock/metal artists for some real talent".

Well, we were all just joking about your boring and overused rhetoric, but I suppose I have to go through this AGAIN.

Leo-J, you really don't know that much about music. You don't. Yes, anyone with working vocal cords can sing. It comes with the package. But tell me, how has Bieber been singing since he was 5 years old on Youtube? Youtube is only about 5 years old, and Bieber would have been uploading videos over 10 years ago. Right? RIGHT?!! No, wait, that doesn't make any sense. And what is this about Usher? A boy toy? That sounds really odd and sexual. I'd use a different word for what Bieber is to Usher, like "tool" or "puppet." They're more fitting. To me, Justin Bieber just comes off as a goofy little white kid who is shown as being best buddies with Usher, Diddy, and other rappers. Also, of course he has a voice. He does have functioning vocal cords. However, a good voice? No, not really. Here's a teenager with a voice:

Now, I know you've said you respect and like MJ a lot, but I think that's only because he was a pop artist. And answer this: If Justin Bieber is just some sex object and a vessel for terrible songs (and that's the norm in the pop industry, as you claim), then how is that not also true for Lady Gaga? And how is that a good thing? Why do you like modern pop music so much if it's so terrible? Are you just going to roll over and accept the music industry's decay?

But going back to basics, you still know nothing about music. Sure, you tried to save face by claiming you like Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd in your post, but it's not going to work. We all know better. We're not falling for that. And if you do like those bands, what's your favorite songs by them? Albums? What other bands do you like that show that show that you know music? The Beatles? No, you hate them. Nevermind.

And there's nothing different about Lady Gaga. So if you love her for her devotion to her art and theatrics, that means you support her solely for her image. This means that music never even crossed your mind with her. And it has nothing to do with peer pressure. We're hardly the ones just blindly following what others say.

Stop pulling the sexism card!

That's so insolent of you. It's your last resort because you can never actually win a music argument with knowledge.

BURN!!!

:P

I can kind of see where Leo is coming from, even though I don't agree with him. Lady Gaga is a master of image, and actually has a good voice. That doesn't mean I think her music is good. Pop is, and always has been, aimed at the lowest common denominator of human intelligence. There's nothing really wrong with that, not at all, but that doesn't change the fact.

Personally, I think Lady Gaga knows this, and purposely aims her music at the less intelligent, basically 99% of the worlds population and 99.9% of America (Don't Worry, I'm American myself). I respect her for the fact that she knows what she's doing.

I actually respect Bieber in a way as well. He's one of the few stars NOT constantly singing about sex and drugs. I guess that this is because he's younger, but it still is nice. Of course, the whole "pure" act didn't exactly work out for Miley Cyrus, now did it?

Personally, I've hated music for years. It's one of the reasons I took up guitar, to make my own music, that I WOULD like. However, it is true that guitar takes no real talent. It's just a matter of taking it like a man when your fingers start to bleed. Making music, now that takes real talent. It's not just making a catchy tune and singing meaningless words to it. It's about passion and expressing yourself.

That's what separates music and entertainment. Music is an expression of yourself. Entertainment is just a money-making industry. Justin Bieber is a FANTASTIC entertainer, but a poor musician. There's no way he knows what love is, or what true heartbreak is. He has no idea how hard life can be for some people (I'm going through some tough times right now myself). He has no passion to put behind his music, and until recently, neither did I. One day he might be a great musician, but I honestly don't think so. You can even express yourself without words, be it with a guitar, violin, piano, or anything.
