if a big time game such as halo 3, call of duty or mass effect come out ill buy them new to contribute to the sales totals, but other then that buying used makes much more sense. Besides game stop typically offers a 7 day waranty on all games for free, and if you are that concerned they sell an aditional waranty for 3 dollars.
