Let's view it like this:
Sora is a pathetic weakling, and can't even destroy shadows without it.
Therefore, the Keyblade was able to defeat Sephiroth, Maleficent, Ansem, personifications of pure evil and darkness, Cloud, Squall, Yuffie, and Tifa (all at once mind you) and Hades.
I think they Keyblade deserves to be on that list.
