You can make potentially great games with motion controls like socom 4, but making hardcore games like this will definately have a big risk.

the hardcore gamers propably don't need the motion controls (I don't atleast), while the game itself is VERY niche genre with casuals if you consider that most casual gamers seem to just go with the simple sports/fitness games and are uninformed about the gaming trends, and are content with mediocre games when there would be much better available.

So for a game company wouldn't it be better to release a sports game rather than FPS for example? I would think the Sports game would sell twice the amount of copies than Socom 4 if it just had a decent TV-commercial, because there's multiple times more potential casual buyers compared to hardcore.

I fear the game studios start to prefer the simplistic motion control games on 360/PS3 because that's where the bigger customer base is, over well-written storylines and decent gameplay.

yeah, I agree with this guy.

I dont wanna play socom with motion, I hate to hold to piece of remote in both hands.

thats a big problem with the wii, when Im playin a game like wii sport where the game is all about motion and fun,Im ok but when Im playin games like mario galaxy and even nsmbw at first, I always think about if only I could use the gamecube controller.

example : monster hunter ,smash brawl , resident evil archives, are all games where u can choose the controller u want. I bet 3/4 or even more use the classic or the gamecube controller.

Nintendo made me a gamer so I'd be stupid to ever try to forget that                                             like so many people nowadays
