I guess the better word would be murdered, while an illegal act was being committed. Correct me if I am wrong, but murder during a home invasion gets you in some serious shit in the US.

I also want to know why armed commandos were sent in instead of riot police with rubber bullets, batons, and riot shields. It's kind of embarassing seeing commandos get their asses kicked by a lowly civilian mob, and the riot police would have also been perfectly capable in handling the situation with far less "shit hitting the fan."

1947 for one when a floatilla of Jews was invaded.

Before they reached Palestine actually.  They were invaded with force immediatly and killed a  bunch of Jews... but you know... actually and for real.

 

Israel DID invade with Riot police first... only armed with paintball guns.  The regularly armed people came second.

Fairly certain this isn't even the first time Israel has done this either.  Only news because the people on board decided to mob.
