IMHO, Uncharted 2 is NOT a platformer. A platformer is a game where platforming is the main gameplay and challenge. It's a challenge to time that jump, to be able to plan ahead your platforming, etc.
In Uncharted 2, it's too automatic.
However, is that a bad thing? No. The jumping and climbing in Uncharted 2 add SO MUCH to its core gameplay of cover based shooting. Run into a guy and you both get in a standoff behind cover? What if you start climbing the wall you're leaning against, jump behind him or shoot above him?
I mean it doesn't have to be that situational. It's just a blast being able to run around so smoothly (the game has very good controls) and be able to go anywhere and shoot.
That's why I said in my last post, inFamous 2 better be the perfect fucking game with multiplayer (and hopefully a singleplayer that at least takes the GTAIV approach and gives a little more story and sense of variety/purpose for each mission, instead of going all Assassin's Creed 1).
