I think it's all about Fanboyism these days. You had fanboys in the past, too, but it was mostly about: "We have the best games, etc." Now many seem to think this way: "We have the best graphics EVER!!" It's just ridiculous.
When I look at my current Top10, I see 5 HD games in there, but this doesn't have to do anything with the graphics. I love them because of their gameplay, story, presentation, etc. and of course graphics matter a little, too, but it's far away from being the most important part for me.
In the end my own opinion is the only thing that matters, and if some people want to care mostly about graphics I shouldn't complain about it.
