I think he's a pretty good guy as a person. At least that's his public persona. He could be an axe murderer in private, but we'll never know until they find the pile of bodies under his house, so no use in speculating there.
What keeps him in paid employment is his consistent lack of favouritism. Though I think Wii fans might have a different point of view, I think his commentary and assessment of what he thinks Ninty need to do, and when, with the Wii are given from the perspective of an objective observer. But to people who think Ninty can do no wrong it sounds like Wii-hating bias (and hence HD favouritism). In an industry where nearly everyone takes sides in the console warz the "Swiss" commentators provide for a refreshing sense of balance that is missing in so many other discussions.
