Well, on one hand I can have a game I love, with upgrades to gameplay, content, not to mention graphics and an enhanced soundtrack, that will rock my world with a shot of Nostalgia straight to the veins.

On the other hand there's at best another FF13, at worst another NieR.

And Square are the lords of bullshit, it shouldn't take that much to model all of these things in 3D, because we don't need them to, why can't they model some of the areas in 3D, and then make the same, non-moving viewpoint, just like in FF7?

I keep answering this question. They cannot. how many AAA HD console games have 2D rendered backdrops? None. With new technology comes new requirements what flew in PS1 days will NOT fly in PS3 days especially with games like Uncharted GOW FFXlll and VS raising that bar. A HD game that looks like a PS1 game would be a laughing stalk.. a FF7 remake woold be complete fail if they tooi the PS1 version and just updated graphics.. maybe on PSP but PS3

They could however settle for doing it in the style of lost odyssey, this would not take as long as say as doing it in the style of FF XIII:):)
