Yeah but i didn't claim that english is the norm , I just said that you were wrong to think 20 year ago english was more strong.

Also the whole conversation was about English Voice VS Japan Voice, nobody provided proofs that japanese or american was better at localizing or traducting.

Itagaki and I were just saying that you can't say that one language traduction is better than an other if you can't understand the language because you will not be able to hear the language default and you can't argue that.

Also Rutea7 was the first to said english sucks compare to japanese one so Itagaki just took the defense of english (and me too).

If Rutea7 had said 'I prefer japanese over english' that would be correct but he just said that english suck so we got the right to say 'No you are wrong'.

First, I didn't say or think that English was stronger in Québec 20 years ago.

Here's where I think you misunderstood what I said:

"The younger generations , those born in the late 70s, the 80s and later, have a much better understanding than the rest and many are even bilingual but they are not the norm.  I don't know who you are trying to fool here."

What it means is that the younger generations I mentioned were born in an era where bilinguism is on the rise.  But I already illustrated how this rise isn't that big when you only take the natively French speaking people, which were the center of my argument to begin with.

Now, I didn't not talk about the localization process.  I only mentioned Voice acting work and the overall difference in quality from both sides.  Stating that the quality is more consistent in Japan than it is in the West.  Providing comparison data is impossible at this point in time as none exist.  But as Rutea7 (she's a girl, by the way) and I pointed out, the fact that the trained voice actor pool is significantly bigger there than in the west is indication enough to understand the impact it can have on the final results.  For people who can understand both languages, most of the time they will stick to the original Japanese version, mentioning the quality of the acting almost at every turn.  You can call those people "vendus" or "weeaboos" but you'd do that only in ignorance of what they're talking about since you don't understand the language yourself.

Just take you, I_Hate_Itagaki and me for example.  I'd wager we all prefer to play our games and watch our movies in English rather than in French.  And this is mostly because the quality of the French voice acting is usually not on par with the English versions.

I'll post more later, whenever I find something more consistent to illustrate my points.

P.S. : The argument could go both ways though.  You could provide proof that Japanese voice acting isn't of better quality overall than what is found in occident. ¬_¬

I prefer French dubs over english ones on TV/movies, and in video game I prefer English. Did you heard arnold schwarzenegger in English? It's awful. Most of the TV shows and movie are better in French IMO (I said IMO). The Simpsons is the best example. Tney speak like we speak in Quebec. In games, the french often sounds weird (mirror edge), but can be damn good too (fallout 3).

I said japanese voices sound bad. I never said they were bad voice actors, but they sound bad IMO. You said that Western voice actors are awful. So far, it's only opinion.

After that, you said that japanese were more professional and all that. That's when it turned bad. You need proofs for facts. I always put opinions, I didn't tried to put facts in the arguments, you did. So you need proofs if it's not opinions.

BTW I wouldn't be an ass if you tried to be more polite and less snob.

I just read your previous post up here and again it's opinion. If you can't speak or understand the language without subtitles, you can't say if it's good or bad. You just like the way it sounds. Maybe you can 'hear' expressions, but that's it. If a japanese guy plays RE1, maybe he'll find the voice actors good, because he don't speak english, so he can't ear the bad voice acting. It just sounds good.
