Just played the demo a bit ago. I was really unimpressed. Hacking through 500+ enemies really isn't that exciting when they all look the same and drop like flies. Dynasty Warriors was a fun series for a while, but it got old quick. N3II doesn't really change the genre in any significant ways from what I could tell in the demo, and thus feels like "more of the same".
Sure, the graphics are great. Sound, not so much from what I could tell. The controls work. They feel good and they are easy to pick up. However, the bland level design and lack of variety make me lose interest. I don't look forward to hours of X, X, Y, X, Y, Y, LB+B, RB, repeat. Especially when said hacking-and-slashing takes place within such a well-worn genre. This is just a demo, so it's not like I have an opinion on the final product, but based on the demo I am disappointed in Konami's seeming disinterest in turning such a stale genre into something fresh and exciting. I had hoped for good things. All the demo gave me was a Six Million Dollar Man (faster and stronger, but otherwise the same as before).
Of course, this is all totally just my opinion. I could very well be alone in it, and I figure people who loved the first N3 will probably get a kick out of the new one. Personally, I just didn't dig it.
