yeah but if you played MGS there are hints that shows that Mei Ling and Meryl actually like Solid Snake. Especially the ending with Meryl hehehe.

Also at MGS4 Meryl and Mei Ling seems pretty dissapointed to see the Solid Snake an old man LOL...

You can actually say Solid Snake is more bad a$$ since he rejected these beautiful women LOL xD
