We see Sony really pushing for 3D Gaming and Nintendo utilizing 3D Technology to it's 3DS.
But the question is, will 3D Gaming for Consoles become Mainstream in the next few years?
I personally don't think 3D for Console Gaming will become Mainstream unless the 3D Glasses disappear and this will happen when the 3DS takes off and becomes a global success just like the DS. I reckon Sony, Nintendo and MS should utilize tech like the 3DS if they're serious about 3D Gaming on Consoles. We obviously don't know how good the 3DS technology is going to look right now but the fact that it's going to create 3D effects without the need of glasses and using special cameras to project the 3D Images is very impressive.
And by the looks of things this Gen, 3D Gaming will use the 3D Glasses but once we see the 3DS succeed with it's technology, Next gen we'll be able to see Sony, MS and Nintendo apply the 3D tech to their next consoles. But until then, people aren't going to upgrade to 3DTVs rightaway and get into 3D gaming and Sony alone will find it hard to maek 3D Gaming mainstream.
