Because sports games always have sales go way, way down after Christmas? The yearly franchises, I mean.

Yearly sports franchises like Madden, Fifa, PES, and NBA have the worst legs of any genre, by a wide margin. Unless the PS3 magically breaks all historical trends from the PS2/360/Xbox, that's what will happen.

I still think it's likely it will make 1 million -- I said that in my original post -- but people will be SHOCKED how much the sports game in particular plummet in sales at the beginning of new year.

 I actually agree with you on this, sports games plummet after XMas and then they have a price drop and they start selling decent again until the next release, it's a vicious cycle.
