Bit of a tricky one.
From a religous person's point of view God made humans in his image so maybe it was the environment because god doesn't promote homosexuality.
But on the other hand God loves everyone equally and because he created humans in his own image he MUST have made humans intentionally knowing their characteristics. (Being all knowing and all powerful and all that 
)
