What horrorgames is "must-plays"?

Resident Evil Archives on the Wii is not the 1996 game.  Its the REmake of it on the GC.  Not a port, a full on remake.

Yeah, I knew it was a remake, but I thought its the same game, just with better graphiqs and kind of the same controllers as RE4 had!

Am I completely wrong here? Also, would you suggest that I play the original on PS1 instead? :)
