Amen!

While I generally do not care to play the games that Rockstar puts out, I believe that there are adults who do -- and they should be allowed to have adult fare.

Almost no one in their right mind would have taken a 14-year-old to "No Country for Old Men" (a critically acclaimed but violent film). So no one should buy M-rated games of this type for their 14-year-olds either.

Didn't you watch violent movies as a 14-year-old?

No. No I did not.

Certainly not the level of violence found in an M-rated video game.

And note that most parents do NOT take their children to R-rated movies ... the kids sneak in (one way or the other).

However, these same parents think nothing of buying the equivalent of an R-rated video game for their kids.   That is the problem.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.
