d21lewis said: Wow. I like downloading (in fact, the few UMD games I own, I wish I'd have downloaded --for the convenience) but Sony is committing suicide if they're going that route. It's too soon. And how long does it take to download a PSP game without a PC or a PS3? I've never been brave enough to try!! |
not long at all. maybe 5 minutes with decent wireless. If PSP2 uses wireless-N it would be amazingly fast.
I'm not talking about PSP Minis or small games like Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max, or even comic books. You mean a full fledged PSP game that is in the range of 1GB or more can down load in 5 minutes? Even my PC and my hard wired PS3/360 can't download data that fast!! If this wireless-N (that I admit I've never heard of) can download data that fast then I'm gonna give Sony the benefit of the doubt. The market is crowding fast and there are still those intimidated by digital media, but I'll be onboard. Is the mass market ready, though?
Yes the market has been ready for about 3 years now. And max speed Wireless-N is capable of is 150mbps over a distance of about 200 meters.
