i am just confused at how low the scores are

i can agree with the combat being slow , old school-like , but a lot of the cons are from the storyline.
i mean if you look at JRPGs this gen for example , Star Ocean had a terrible storyline and voice overs, Resonance of Fate had a very straight forward storyline , the reviewers however didn't give those as Cons and rated them higher than WKC.

its just a lot of people don't understand JRPGs made by Level 5 never had a deep and emotional storyline but rather the sense of adventure and charm that they do very well.
