Silent Hill 1: Worth to play?

I have heard something about Silent Hill 1 not being too good, but I personally would think it's a good game to have played trough.

 

What do you guys think? Is Silent Hill 1 worth a playtrough, or should I skip right to number 2?

Silent hill 1 is a great game,you must play it. But Silent Hill 2 is easily the greatest survival horror game of all time. The game is perfect.
