I assume you mean have we gotten to the point where cut scenes look as good as real-time game play. The answer to that is absolutely not. It is functionally impossible. You can always put more shinies, polish, and over-all quality into images that are pre-rendered as opposed to real-time. There is absolutely no way to get around that unless the game itself creates images that mirror reality perfectly. Until then the machines can always run something that is closer and thus looks better.
