No, the Wii is not a extended Wii. The Wii is a ripoff. :P
A extended GameCube, would be a slot to slide in all 4 of the front bays, and install a simple OS that would use the Wiimotes, on the GameCube for like 100$ more.
That's an extended lifespan.
By your defination. I can see the PS5 running the same 'system' as the PS3.
The Cell is meant to expand.
