Auron only looks badass. He never actually does anything that's badass.

 

He did come back from the dead and calmly stand around while Zanarkand was getting destroyed didn't he (I can't remember clearly)? And badassery is at least 75% attitude IMO. You can't run around screaming like a chicken while defeating everything around you and still be called badass...
