Well with killzone 2 they had to create a graphics engine from nothing on a machine which was hugely complex- Im not suprised it took 5 years!
With Killzone 3 i expect the same graphics engine to be used but to be optimised and used more effieiently with lots of tweaks making it look a lot better without taking another 5 years.
However graphics isn't the thing I'd be concentrating on too hard If i was making kz3, they really need a robust online then this will sell like hotcakes!
