It's a fun game but I'd struggle to say 10/10.

It has a good story but repetitive combat after a while, and to be honest it's not really horror so much as a supernatural thriller. Certainly there's nothing to equal the cold chill of say a Silent Hill 2.

I do wish people would quit with feeling the scripts/dialogue in games like this equal their sources in film and TV - they don't. Twin Peaks is a clear influence and not one line nor moment in the game equals the best of the show. But, for a game, and I mean that in a positive way, it's pretty good.

It does look good visually, but again it's clearly not 'miles' ahead. In particular during the daytime segments it shows it's lower resolution and weaker textures vs say Gears of War (1 or 2). Some of the facial and movement animations don't quite hit home all the time either. The lighting is very good, though, and while it's clear the engine has been skewed to support nighttime action and complex lighting overall it performs pretty ably throughout the game.

It's definitely a very good game, in the final analysis though, and it's clear it got a lot of love in development.

8.9 / 10 for me.
