On the other hand, the PSP's screen resolution is 480x272 compared to PS2's 704x480.
So the PSP, while having stronger specs, can't really bring more detail to the graphics due to a much restrained resolution. Graphics may looks on par, or similar to those on the PS2, but won't be looking any better.
The fact that the PSP's resolution is lower also means that the whole games' assets will take less space on the storage media. In the end, the PS2 still have the edge, even though the raw specs are slightly lower. Having more storage on the PSP wouldn't magically inprove the assets resolution, which again, are restricted to the hardware's low res screen.
