What does this even mean??

PS3 has to many gatekeeper functions on who can develop and sell products and what kind of functions said products can have.

Basically, it makes sense to port to Apple because they can do things like Steam cloud and give free updates.

Basically valve LOVES modders and actually building relationships with their fans... etc.  They're all about bringing people in, getting ideas from their fans and collborating with them to make things better.

True they can't do that on 360 either... however it takes no effort to port to 360.  It does make a lot of sense.

Seriously... LISTEN to the interview and you'll understand.

You may actually learn something, it's a very telling and good interview about game development.

Building a relationship with their fans?  Is that why they pissed off quite a few by pratically releasing the promised DLC for L4D as L4D2?  And you yourself just stated that they port on 360 because it takes little to no effort.  Doesn't that pretty much enforce what people are saying about them, that they are lazy developers?

I don't think Valve is going to get a pass anytime soon from PS3 supporters.  Instead of just saying they prefer the 360 and continuing to work on it, they feel the need to demean the PS3.  And this new excuse is pretty lame, as well.  It's pretty much giving an answer without giving an answer.

Eh, L4D is one game. They have shown time and time again they support all their games. Looks at the new Counter Strike Source Beta.

Valve is a PC dev. They care about their PC fanbase first and foremost. The Xbox games are just for some quick cash. Nothing more.

And who cares if they never release a damn game on the PS3, I wouldnt buy their games on any console anyways.

This is pretty much it.  Valve FEEDS off of their fans almost.  I mean, how were the portal devs hired again?  With TF2 they add community items and have been adding community maps forever!

Valve embraces mods.
