Why PS3 games sales is doing much better in Europe.?

I think it is nearly impossible to come up with a reason why it is performing better in Europe on the whole being that the performance of the PS3 in Europe varies by region ...

Part of it could be brand recognition, conspicuous consumption, strength in favoured genres, machismo  or classism.
