The irony is that Sony's arrogance may have contributed to Apple's success. It was Sony's arrogance to not support MP3 and instead tried to force ATRAC and mini disc to the consumer. This created an opportunity for Apple to launch the iPod which fully supported MP3 and the ability to transfer music from their CDs and the rest is history.
Anyone can guess. It takes no effort to throw out lots of predictions and have some of them be correct. You are not and wiser or better for having your guesses be right. Even a blind man can hit the bullseye.
