If there was ever a time to sell your Wii, it was back when Nintendo was unable to keep up with demand and they actually drew a decent price.
Currently, selling one is not much better than holding a garage sale for unused games/hardware; it's a big losing proposition.
Of course, if you have no intention of ever using a console and you can use whatever money you can get for it; why not?
I would have sold mine back when they were still worth near retail if it hadn't been for the VC games I've bought that are linked to the console. But I still would have kept my games for when I bought another Wii when they were much cheaper had that happened.
