Yeah Heavy Rain does pick up momentum after the first 2 chapters. Stick with it!
So far Heavy Rain is my favorite game of 2010. I really dug the story, the characters, and the gameplay was so intense because I didn't want to mess up and have any of my characters die. The first time through I was determined to live with all of my consequences like if a character died and I never reloaded my save or backtracked to the previous chapter. It made me on the edge of my seat during any fight scene and the whole experience was so refreshing. God of War III is my current runner-up.
