So not only will you not support a single developer by buying a game at full price, you then state you'd rather rent the games, so you won't give game developers any income at all? I know most people can't afford first day purchases, but at least they give some income when the price drops. Your call, but you shouldn't whinge when the next devs go out of business. You are, after all, playing their creative works while giving them nothing for it. |
I said most not all new games aren't worth a purchase anyway. I know I'll definately be buying Fallout: Vegas, Civilization V and probably Mech Warrior, Halo: Reach and Crackdown 2. Thats their pound of flesh for the year, 5 games is above the yearly average of 3 titles for a console owner.
Besides, the local rental store owners need to make a living too! If I pay them then the rental stores miss out.
Thankfully they are local businesses so IMO their needs trump international publishing companies with cynical motives.
I rarely pay full price for a game though. Mass Effect 2 being the only game I paid $60 for. The next will probably be Fallout Vegas.
Well hey, just because they are suckers for me doesn't mean I have to be a sucker in return!
I almost bought Mass Effect 2 but I held off because as Fallout: New Vegas was coming out this year. I generally only get one or two RPG titles in a year. Usually there are 2-4 of Wii titles I get for between 1/3 to 1/2 off because of their local play potential however to keep the lady happy.
Tease.
