1) You get a pretty new box.
2) Supporting your console(s) of choice
3) Good sales lead to add ons, more games in the series, maybe a movie.
4) Brings more money to the industry, lets be real used games are a profit for gamestop not the devs.
5) some of them are pretty cheap, I just bought MGS4 brand new for $20.00 (GT5 prolouge was 29.99)
6) If people bought new on release dates instead of waiting for used copies it would make the numbers far more interesting.
