I don't blame Square for jumping ship to Sony, Sony obviously had a greater financial interest in Square, and invested in the company (Nintendo didn't bother) and created hardware and a sales environment more suitable for the game. Nintendo went very exclusive and elitest, and as a result they had very little to offer on the N64 (and I mean quanitity here, I remember owning an N64 and considering each and every game thoroughly because only one game was released every month or two). |
I agree. I think hand helds are the place to do these old JRPG .
FFVII seems to be the one that people want to be redone the most. I think it is the only one that would do well if released on a full console. I don't think the market is there for VIII and IX, unless you put them on a handheld, as is. Of course, if it doesn't take too much investment, releasing the old games on PSN or XBL is also not a bad idea.
I give this thread a 9.5.
