The major reason this is a good idea for them is that they can issue these to every (or almost every) soldier. So if they get into a situation that requires one of the said tools, in a desperate situation, they can use it for said purposes. Because in a battlezone, lets face it, they aren't going to be carrying tons of extra hammers, wire cutters, or such. |
Of course. In a battle zone, I'm going to have my bottle of champagne but no bottle opener and my canoe with no oars, or my nails with no hammer!! But when I did some research and found out that that video was actually recorded and uploaded to youtube with just a shovel, my tune changed!!
That shovel is awesome!!
