Samus's personality was somewhat more subtle up to that point but was established as early as Metroid II and Super Metroid, Mario's personality has been clearly established sinc the mid-90's and I find it ridiculous that you would argue otherwise when he has such consistent characterization, and Link not being the same guy in each game doesn't change the fact that h's had a clearly established personality in every single game since 1998. And no, I will not agree with you, on two points. 1. The criteria for a "good" character is not the same in games as it is in other media. 2. People read books starring Master Chief all the time. |
Okay, here I go:
1. That isn't true, in my opinion, a good character is different depending on the type of story, not depending on the media.
2. Books starring Master Chief or books that are based on the Halo universe?
And I still don't agree that Mario has a personality, at least, a personality that isn't extremely shallow and stereotypical.
Bet with Dr.A.Peter.Nintendo that Super Mario Galaxy 2 won't sell 15 million copies up to six months after it's release, the winner will get Avatar control for a week and signature control for a month.
