I disagree regarding Final Fantasy, as each one is completely different in some form or fashion, and we don't get one every year or two.

I think the topic is talking about the franchise names that are being milked. The main series Final Fantasy isn't being milked by much but the name Final Fantasy is. I think 5 games came out last year that had Final Fanatsy in their title (could be more) but that's quite a lot of Final Fantasy's. 

 

I know what the topic is about, and I still disagree. It's not like a continuation of the same story/universe/characters. It's always different, always changing (save for maybe Crisis Core)

Then why don't they change the name of the game so that it doesn't include Final Fantasy?
