if Wii is selling because of games the why didn't N64 and GC.They had great Nintendo games. You really think that a successor of PS2 the highest selling console with the momentum the PS brand had wouldn't have outsold Wii if they were the same price. And you said PS2 and PS1 sold because they were mainstream,in what sense?PS3 is the same just that it was expensive. Then what do you mean by PS2 and PS1 being mainstream People jsut got on the WII cause it was cheap and then other people followed them. AND you were saying WII was mainstream like PS2 and PS1.PS1 and PS2 are totally different from WII but still they sold well |
Consoles sells because of games. That first. Price comes after that. The wii has the games which appeal the most. That's a fact. It's games can be played by anyone, which is key to it's (mainstream) succes.
The PS1 and PS2 are the same as the Wii. You (and most PS-fans) just don't want to see it. The biggest sign of mainstream succes is: shovelware. The console which appeals the most, gets all the shovelware.
PS1: 95% shovelware.
PS2: 95% shovelware.
Wii: 95% shovelware.
The consoles with the most showelvare on it, is the most mainstream console. If not, it wouldn't have the shovelware.
The shovelware comes with the big succes. The wii - even with crappy 3rd party support - sells the most software. That's why it's mainstream, it can push the crap. Just like the PS2, and PS1 before it.
