First paragraph is equating hardware sales and software sales. You got it wrong. They need a hit like NSMBWii or MW2 to help sell the 3DS. Second paragraph is thinking that tech would sell the system. The mainstream doesn't care about groundbreaking tech. They care about tech that gives them what they want, and with video game systems, that will always be games. |
I would usually agree with you. But 3DS will be a phenominon like MW2/NSMBW were. Even without the software. The DS was majorily successful without the software, it sold 5-million units when compared to the GameBoy:Advance which didn't sell nearly that much first year.
I beg to differ that the market doesn't care about ground breaking tech. Look at other industries for example the TV industry where millions are made each day on groundbreaking tech. The computer industry the cell phone industry. 3D is a major new step and I can gaurantee technology will help sell the platform.
Not saying software won't contribute equally to hardware. But hardware will definatly be a factor. I mean its the first time Nintendo has pioneered new hardware since the Wii. Even the DS wasn't as break through as 3D without glasses!
