Say you have 2 kids... and they are brilliant Straight A's, both are going to be Doctors. Then you have your third kid. Your clearly going to think he's going to be smart too... but he isn't. He ends up getting D's and F's on his report cards... and you get him some help etc... so now he's getting C+ and B-s. He's not going to be a doctor and as "big" of a success as your other children... but your happy that atleast he's on his way to being Ok, and not living with you in the basement until he's 45. |
But with a B he'd still be able to do charity work, volunteer in the 3rd world. He might even start a successful business or become a great football player that gives tons of money to orphans. He could become and artist or an actor that makes millions of dollars that he chose to spend on his ageing father and on research to improve the health care of the country. So now tell me, which kid is more successful? The two who spend a lifetime paying the bills from medical school, or the one helping the world become a better place? ;D
