its something no other developer has ever done and no other publisher would have supported? but it still all depends on your opinion of what a phenomenon is? we will never know. remember sony nor the developers expected this type of succee. thats why some people still say LBP was a failure becasue they expected more sells wise and a big boost in hardware, but LBP was a succee. and it probably did boost hardware sells but not like people thought it would.
