Huh? teh jaggies on all the pictures other than the last one makes them look more like GT PSP screens than GT5.

The last screen shot looks great. Though the X shaped trees aren't so impressive.

I'm not sure we're seeing the same pics. They weren't any jaggies in any of those.

All as I can say is this is the first time I've seen GT5 screens where I didn't have to squint, strain my eyes and turn my head sideways in order to find some jaggies. This thread, 7/8 screens are eye-poking jag fests by comparison.

8th screen is golden though and exactly as I've come to expect from GT5 screens. I mean if I didn't know it was a GT5 screen (and if it wasn't for the X tree in the foreground) I'd have thought that pic was a real world picture. The other 7 the jaggies make it obvious that they're not real world.

I'm only saying what my eyes are telling me.

I played the GT5 academy demo for quite a few hours and those first 7 screens are a poor comparison on the jag front. But significantly better in all other respects.

We've never bumped heads on a topic, but I have to say I don't see these "eye-poking" jaggies you speak of. I've examined and re-examined each pic and don't see them.

OK, I'm saying eye-poking RELATIVE to other GT5 screens I've seen (and relative to the 8th picture). I.e. the jags stand out like dogs balls by comparison to what I'm used to seeing on GT5 screens. I'm not saying it's a jag fest in an absolute sense.

@ Greyian: Where are the jags? Everywhere. There basically isn't an in focus line that doesn't have jags in those first 7 pics.

Seriously guys, by what I'm looking at someone has done a "here are 7 screen shots with the AA turned off, and here is one screen shot with AA turned on" demonstration to show people how much of an impact AA has on the visual quality of a game. The difference between the first 7 screens and the 8th is night and day.

I'm not trying to head butt, because I'm not trying to criticise the game, because I KNOW the game looks like screen 8 not screens 1-7. I'm just saying what I'm seeing. I'm rather weirded out by the fact that I'm the only one seeing it that way. Truly, if those first 7 screens were the only pictures I'd seen of GT5 in action I'd be underwhelmed.

CGI, you know I'm not an irrational critic prone to hyperbole on this sort of stuff. I really wish you could some and see what I'm seeing on my screen. I'm gonna have to have a look on a different computer and see if it makes a difference, but it'll be a few hours before I can do that.

I'll be back.

You're a fair guy, I know. So perhaps when you check elsewhere, it may be different. And I'm not meaning to come off as an ass, I just don't see the jaggies, but I await your return! :P

Shit!!!! This is UNBELIEVABLE I tells ya! The jaggies are gone, GOOOOONNNNNNNE, every last one of them. My earlier posts were made looking at work (don't tell anyone). I thought surely to goodness, given pic 8 looks pristine it's got nothing to do with the computer or screen, otherwise all 8 pics would be equally jaggy. But now I'm home and looking on my home PC the top 7 are now as good, if not better, than the 8th.

Work and home are both LCD screens possibly about the same vintage, though home might be slightly newer, I don't know because I got it off a friend recently so not sure how long he had it. Work is a fairly old Toshiba laptop (5-6 years) home is an equally aged Dell Dimension desktop. I don't see why there should be such a big difference in picture quality when I've never noticed anything looking different before (of course I almost never come on VGC at work, no that would be naughty). If by the odd pure accident I ever go on VGC at work again I'll have to refrain from commenting on the quality of AA in games until I see it at home.

Curiouser and curiouser.
