i'm late to the party but i though i might add that in my view if you want to do everything in ffxiii, it is the hardest ff i have played on, lol, that is another thing to add to the list:):)

You seriously need to play some FF1 (Virtual Console) or FF4DS.

I've been playing FF4DS, and I consider the final boss to be LITERALLY impossible.

LITERALLY.

Dude, Zeromus is easy on FFIVDS. Play FFIV Hard Type (The un-nerfed JP version for the SNES) and then come back here xD.

Final Fantasy IV on the DS is harder than the original SNES JP type.

Enemies have been given tons more health, new battle scripts, spells take longer to cast, and enemies can use their desperation attacks at ANY TIME.

I am also playing without any Augments (and it's too late to get any) and I'm underleveled.

And big bang deals 6000 to my entire party even with great equipment.

Actually it isn't. You can farm easier and can grind faster as you gain levels much faster than in the original JP version.

The amount of gil you get is also stupid, you can easily get the best equipment. And Rydia's Summons are too overpowered. I didn't play with any augments, I just relied a lot on Shell and Protect, like I did on the JP version.

Dude, listen to me.

BIG BANG DEALS 6000 ON MY ENTIRE PARTY WITH GREAT EQUIPMENT AND EVERY BUFF.

I'm also only mid 60s level-wise.

Dude, I know it does that high amount and that it can't be blocked.

You know what's the key to win against him? Kain's Jump. By keeping Kain in the air, you'll most likely dodge Big Bang most of the times. If your entire party gets killed by it and Kain survives, you can revive them (starting with Rosa, of course).

Plus, and I know Asura's unreliable, but it's also a big help on the battle if you get lucky.

The battle is not impossible and hard (Big Bang is the only damaging move he has) it just takes a bit of luck and timing to get past it. Using Cecil and Rosa as White Mages exclusively also helps a lot.

....and then after I use my fool-proof strategy with Kain and Edge to bring his HP down by a lot he uses Meteor.

And everyone's dead.

The battle requires luck so mammoth towards the end it's unpossible.

Kain needs to jump RIGHT before he uses Meteor to win, and Meteor has absolutely no sign that it's coming.

It is not reflectable.

Black Hole gets rid of Shell so I can't protect myself.

Whaddya say to that?

Kain's jump is easily abused, yes, that's what got me through, but Meteor just requires too much luck to deal with.

Meteor kills your whole party? Even at LVL 60, that's pretty hard to be so. Even if it leaves you at very low HP, having two White Mages can easily restore you back to full HP.

And you need to keep restoring your Shell, that should be your top priority once Rosa is fully healed.

You're mostly having bad luck, but that doesn't make it impossible. I defeated him at LVL 65 or so and it only took me two tries (a bad timed Kain's Jump was the fault for not doing it on the first try).
