Shaq's resume alone shows that he can retire when he wants. Honestly though if he's still able to contribute 20+ pts a game then I don't think he's ready to retire. When players retire it's usually because they can't contribute anything more to the game or they just can't keep up with the new generation of players.
Fact of the matter is Shaq is still a top 10 center in the league and is seen as one of the only people who can effectively limit and guard Dwight Howard just because of his sheer size. Everyone seems to forget that Kareem stayed in this league until he was 42. Unlike guards, centers actually tend to have a longer career mostly due to their size. Shaq may not be as dominant as he used to be, but he's still one of the best centers in the NBA today.
Go on, name 10 centers in this league who are better than Shaq today. You're going to have a hard time doing that. Shaq's ability to also be considered a top 10 center just goes to show how the center position has gotten softer over the years, with Dwight Howard and Andrew Bynum being the only true and successful successors to the Back to the basket philosphy that old school centers lived and died by.

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.
Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi
