Why do americans say Obama is black?

However, we just called mixed people black. It's easier. Most people don't call them "african americans" because there are actually very few black people that are within 6 generations of being "african", so they're just black, even though they're really brown.

Don't mean to cut in but all of the bolded can be summed up as pol correctness.  It runs rampant in my country - USA.
