2 - Not Nintendo exclusive. Believe it or not, there are still nintendo fanboys that are bitter about the fact that Final Fantasy moved onto different platforms. You can spot these people very easily: they think the series sold out after VII.

Not quite. Sure, there are some who feel that it sold out because it switched. My problem with FF7 was that this was when graphics really became king, pushing good gameplay and challenge to the wayside. I'd have the same problems with FF7 on the N64 as I do with it now- the N64 trailer for it made me feel they were going in the wrong direction with it, though not enough of the story was yet known for me to officially not like it. And I did play through all of FF7, hoping it would hide a gem of greatness. For me, it didn't. It was more about showing pretty pictures, and that train's been going full-speed ahead since, leading us to FF13, where you walk a straight path to see another CGI event, then fight a boss. Yay?

That's kinda how 4 was though... only with out the pretty event + a world map. I loved 4. However I find that the most similar to 13. hmm

Yup, and it also was how it happened in FF6. Even though you had a world map on the world of Balance, the only time you could actually move around freely was at the 30 hour mark, when you got Setzer's Airship. It takes roughly the same amount of time to reach chapter 11 on FF13 when you get some amount of freedom as well.
