Good example - Vivi, in many pepole's opinion he's actually the best character in the series.

Because Hope only lost his mother, I mean mothers aren't important, a kid shouldn't be attached to his mum, how terrible! Lets add in he got turned into something his whole world had been telling him is the greatest evil of all.. Of course he shouldn't whine he should've said "oh well she's dead, time to move on", "oh well who cares if I'm a l'cie...I'm only 14 but I'll act like I'm 100 years old & pretend to be wise". /sarcasm

Hope was much stronger than I expected & a fantastic character, his development throughout the game was extremely well done. I have no complaints against him & Lightning showed her motherly skills!

So 1. Hope's voice wasn't annoying

2. He has more reason than any FF character ever to be whiny, considering his age he was in control pretty well.

...There's a big difference between losing your mom, and mourning her and your change in life, and getting all mega-hyper-emo and trying to kill Snow, also, for some reason that we don't know, Hope whines that his dad doesn't love him at all, of course the moment his dad sees him he shows his love and we don't understand WTF, also, when Lightning tries to save Serah in the beginning of the game, he shouts some stupid-ass shit about how someone shouldn't save a L'cie, while completely ignoring the fact that she's Lightning's sister |:

1. That's true, I wasn't refering to him.

2. Lol, what about FF4 Rydia? FF6 Terra and Celes? FF7 Cloud, and Vincent? FF9 Zidane, Kuja, Vivi, Garnett and Freya?

Let's see... Hope's mother died...

Rydia, her entire village was slaughtered including her mother.

(Haven't played FF6)

Cloud, oh his family was killed, was used as a research specimen by Hojo, the same thing with Vincent.

Zidane wasn't a REAL person, had no family, and was only created to start war.

Kuja, same dealy-o with him.

Garnet lost two mothers, her entire kingdom was destroyed, and she wasn't really born on the Mist continent.

(Freya has nothing to complain about)

I agree. Hope has it the worst.
