Why do we as individuals or even society in general have this negative connotation for failure?

Failure is based on ones perspective...

 

OT: BTW not doing ur term paper isnt about failure per se, its about bad habits and making a commitment to doing something.  It takes practice and discipline which usually one cannot just turn on. 

But is it not that negative connotation that makes failure undesireable, and makes us learn to avoid it?

It's a good thing touching fire brings pain.
